The Human Resources Department provides assistance and guidance to all City departments in the areas of labor relations, employee benefits administration, workers’ compensation, and discipline and grievance procedures.
In addition, the Human Resources Department handles employee recruitment, testing and selection for all City Departments in order to hire and retain a skilled and qualified team of employees. When job openings occur, or when it is necessary to create an eligibility list, the Human Resources Department will advertise for a position and accept job applications. Employees are selected through a competitive testing and interview process.
In order to assist all applicants with the City’s recruitment process, we have prepared a list of the most frequently asked questions below. If you have additional questions that aren’t addressed, please feel free to call the Human Resources Department at (760) 326-2115 ext. 138 for assistance.
Complete listings of all job openings with links to the job flyers and the City’s employment application are available below. Please note that some recruitment may require a Supplemental Questionnaire. If required, the Supplemental Questionnaire will be included with the job flyer.
How Do I Apply?
Candidates should submit a separate and fully completed application with an original signature for each position applied for, along with an optional resume and/or any required supplemental materials (if applicable).
Applications are accepted only for those positions for which there is a listed opening.
Obtain the Application
A City of Needles Employment Application may be obtained 2 ways:
- In person at City Hall located in (817 Third Street, Needles);
- Online by using the application available below in PDF format. Applications should be printed out on white, 8½ x 11 paper.

Complete the Application
All sections of the application should be neatly and clearly completed, regardless of whether a resume will be submitted. Do not simply state “See resume.” Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of information you provide on the application itself.
The position title should be printed at the top of both pages of the application. Candidates must submit an application with an original signature at the bottom of the second page. Be sure to complete the two page application.
Return the Application
Return the application to the Human Resources Department, either in person at City Hall or by mail to 817 Third St. Needles, CA 92363. Resumes may be included with the application, but will not be accepted separately in lieu of a City application form.
Applications must be RECEIVED by the Human Resources Department by the deadline stated on the job flyer – postmarks do not qualify. e-mail applications to The City of Needles H.R. Department
