How to Ride the NAT

How to Ride the NAT

Regular Route

The easiest, most dependable, and least expensive way to ride is to board a NAT bus at a designated bus stop at the scheduled time on the schedule.

Deviation Service

To request a special pick-up at your location, call Needles Area Transit at 1-866-669-6309 or 760-326-4348 on the day you desire the service. If time allows, the bus will deviate off its regular route and meet you at the time and location given to you by the dispatcher. Because of time and schedule constraints, not all deviation requests can be honored.

Guidelines and Information

  • All buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks.
  • Smoking is not permitted on the bus.
  • Drugs, dangerous weapons, and open containers of alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the bus.
  • No animals except for medical service animals are allowed on the bus.
  • No more than two grocery bags and one case per adult rider will be allowed on the bus.
  • Bikes and large items are not permitted on the bus.
  • Children must be at least six years of age to ride the bus unaccompanied by an adult.
  • Music may be played only through headphones.
  • Riders should remain seated when the bus is in motion.
  • NAT reserves the right to refuse service to persons who are intoxicated, abusive, or offensive to other passengers and/or the driver.

Transit to and from Needles

Transit to and from Needles

Interstate 40 traverses Needles east to west, with Highway 95 (the Trans-National Highway from Mexico to Canada) providing north-south access. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (“BNSF”) has a hub at Needles. Amtrak provides two trains a day from Needles to Los Angeles, and Needles to Chicago.

Needles Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport in San Bernardino County, California. It is located five nautical miles south of the central business district of Needles.

The Needles Airport offers maintenance, fuel, and pilot supplies to aviators through its FBO, Paradice Aviation. This Airport is categorized as a General Aviation Airport and operates under:
