The City operates an animal shelter for stray animals. The citizens of Needles and the Tri-State area are encouraged to adopt these animals.
It has been proved that the best way to combat euthanasia is through spay/neuter. The only way to save the lives of animals in Needles and the Tri-State area is to promote responsible pet ownership and stop unwanted litters.
Be part of the solution and have your pet spayed or neutered!
So please spread the word and share our links with your family and friends.
Our mission is to decrease euthanasia, decrease preventable diseases through vaccination and to provide a better quality of life for all animals in our community.
Periodically through out the year the Tri-State area will have spay & neutering specials for a very minimum cost. These specials are usually for a limited amount and when the quantity is filled that is all they will take during that time. Check with the Animal Shelter or your Veterinarian for specials being offered.
Here are a few of the local Veterinarians that provide spay & neuter services.

In ref to licensing. Should say all dogs over 6mo. of age are required to have a city dog lic.
Limit of 4 pets per household. Total combined dogs and/or cats.
Times are hard with the economy, so don’t take the risk of being cited for unlicensed dog. It could cost you precious time and money you can’t afford to lose. All dogs that reside within the City limits are required by law to have a current rabies vaccination and city dog license.
City dog licenses are renewed annually currently on the date of purchase. The City is working towards a new program where we can send notices out to the licensed holders each year as a reminder.
This license not only help to provide revenue to keep our shelter open but, help us identify your pet if it should become lost and end up at our shelter. Also, by licensing, you will be saving money on impound fees and citations if one is issued for various violations.
